About

Scheme & Equipment, Inc. (SEI) was incorporated in 1966 as a Delaware Corporation. Later that same year, SEI was licensed to do business in the state of Illinois. From 1966 through 1988, SEI was a subsidiary of an engineering company. Scheme & Equipment is now an independent corporation involved in material handling projects.

In the early years, SEI was involved in primarily bulk material handling (agricultural products, mining, quarrying, salt, gravel, etc.) The decline of the heavy industries in the early 1970's led to a diversification into unit (package, pallet, product) handling. In the meantime, many industrial customers sought SEI assistance in installing their new facilities. Increased expertise led to the ability to do large turnkey projects.

Today, Scheme & Equipment, Inc. is involved in the development and implementation of bulk and unit material handling and packaging equipment (more than 90%) and in specialty construction for industrial, commercial and institutional customers (the remainder). No consumer products are offered.

Sales are nationwide. A high percentage are in the Midwest. SEI has been involved in equipment exports. Clients range from one-man shops to the fortune 100. A high percentage of the sales are through resellers or representatives, but direct sales are also offered.

As a privately held corporation, SEI does not release financial statements to the public. It can be stated, however, that annual sales are consistently seven digit numbers.
